Thursday Morning Thriller!

Thursday Morning Thrillseeker logo

From 20th November there will be a series of 15 minute Teaching & Learning forums every Thursday morning.  They are designed to be something that you can drop into, pick up an idea that has worked for a colleague and then try to make use of it in your own teaching.  Each week there will be different teachers sharing what is working for them, giving you inspiration and new ideas to pick up and try. To book a place please click here.

The sessions are before school, starting at 7.45am and finishing by 8.00am and will be held initially in the conference room. To compensate for the early start all attendees will be provided with a bacon roll and plenty of coffee!  Of course there will be a vegetarian option also.

Featuring:

Thursday 20th November “Starter for 10; getting A level students to write better essays.” TMA

Thursday 27th November “Study Skills” CDE

Thursday 4th December “Positive behaviour management” TFR

Thursday 11th December For teachers of all subjects.  The Secret of Reading; “How to get students to learn from the texts they read in your lesson.” ZJA

Thursday 18th December “Go 4 Schools. Transition Matrices: Making your data work for you” TMA

I do need people interested in attending to book onto each event.  You can book using Eventbrite and all the details are here or alternatively you can book tickets directly using the Eventbrite widget on the left hand side of the blog.

Each session will be videoed and placed onto the blog so that those who are unable to attend can benefit from the practice of colleagues.

The plan is to also run these events after Christmas.  As such I am looking for volunteers to share elements of practice that are working for them.  I have the first two sessions planned but would be very happy to hear from volunteers!
